ANZAC Weekend

ANZAC weekend will be great fun in Hawea. A great time for remembering those who sacrificed all to help make a free world. This Anzac Day I am remembering in particular my great uncle James Marshall Allan on my fathers side who fought in the first world war at Gallipoli and at Messines Ridge in Belgium where he was killed in June 1917 aged 21. This June along with some of the family I will be in Belgium at a memorial service for him, I plan take the Anzac poppies from the rest of his family in NZ to lay on his memorial stone.
At the Nook the Autumn Sale is in full swing with plenty of people getting bargain plants or 20% off our other stock including the large grade specimen trees - a great deal!
Anzac weekend will see the first Art Exhibition here at the Nursery - Saturday 10-4 & Sunday 1-4, Local artists will be displaying their creations. Worth a look! Its also the weekend of the Contact Epic Cycle Race around Lake Hawea which makes interesting viewing - lots of fit chaps in lycra.....
